Description
This is a very handsome, heavy and well-made circa 1940s vintage solid 10k yellow gold synthetic blue spinel men's Masonic ring. This ring was made by fine vintage jewelry manufacturers, Baden & Foss. It is signed with their hallmark B&F.  This company is known for being one of the very first to use created gemstones in their good quality solid gold jewelry. They have been around since the first part of the 20th century, and I have seen a lot of antique men's rings manufactured by this company.
This ring features a royal blue created spinel (NOT GLASS) with the Masonic symbols of compass, square and "G" inlaid in gold within the stone. It is in excellent condition.  I see one teeny tiny flea bit to the stone just above the G (only visible under a loupe) but no scratches or chips otherwise, at all.
The mounting has a "strong" appearance, with ribbed shoulders and ribbing around the head, as well.
The face of this handsome ring measures a tad over 5/8" top to bottom. It is hallmarked 10k B+F, with the crisp, clear hallmarks evidencing little wear.  It weighs a massive 10.6 grams, with most of that being in the gold setting. This ring is a size 9.5 and can be sized by a competent jeweler.
