    Description

    An original Civil War .69 Caliber Buck and Ball bullet.
    These were issued in a paper cartridge.
    The buckshot was added to the .69 caliber round ball in order to increase the chances of hitting a target when fired from the highly inaccurate smoothbore musket.
    When these cartridges were originally assembled, the buckshot rested on the round ball.  These have been glued together to show how they were grouped in the paper cartridge.
