Offered here is a plaque signed by Mickey Mantle celebrating his Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Mantle, inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974, played 17 years for the New York Yankees, revolutionizing how center field was played. A hitter of ferocious power and speed, Mantle slugged 536 home runs as a switch hitter while maintaining a .298 career batting average. A five-tool player, Mantle’s number 7 was retired by the Yankees in recognition of his tremendous pinstriped career. Mantle is famed as being the hardest hitter to ever grace the diamond, with one of his home runs traveling a reported 734 feet. A seven-time World Series champion with the Yankees, Mantle also managed to win three American League Most Valuable Player awards.This plaque features a color photograph of Mantle, with a compilation of his career statistics and vital stats to it right.
