Description

This is an inexpensive, firm-density polyethylene board (closed-cell plastic foam) that is designed for spreading insect wings prior to mounting. It is ideal for allowing butterfly wings to spread and dry. The slot down the center of the board is 1/2” deep by 1/2” wide (size is consistent throughout the board). The slot is at a 90 degree angle to the board (There is no slant). Pins, paper strips and insects NOT included.

Place a moth, butterfly, or other insect's body in the indentation on the spreading board, and pin a thin strip of paper over each wing to hold them flat until they dry out.
Made from firm density polyethylene foam, not styrofoam or polystyrene
