Civil War CANISTER Display BATTLE & SIEGE OF VICKSBURG MISSISSIPPI Cannon Ball

Description

This auction is for a single cannon canister shot. This canister round is a 1.35 inch size. It has been cleaned and preserved but not over cleaned. These were used much like a giant shotgun blast, packed in a long tin can. This one was found on river bank in Vicksburg. Again, canister shot has been lightly cleaned and coated. The artifact comes with a COA.
This size is in the Civil War Projectiles II book on page 66 as being fired from the 24lb Howitzer. 48 balls per round.
