    THE BATTLE OF CEDAR CREEK, VIRGINIA - Specifically, the circled area on the maps, in front of Simms' and Moody's Brigades of Kershaw's Division, in the area of the Federal attack by Sheridan in the northern section of the Battlefield. It is quite unusual to see relics from a specific site at Cedar Creek -

    This fired High Impact .58 caliber 3-Ring Bullet with dirt still packed into the cavity, was a part of the collection of a relic hunter whose name will be included in the provenance letter, and was identified as having been recovered from the site of the Battle of Cedar Creek.
    Specifically, the circled area on the maps, in front of Simms' and Moody's Brigades of Kershaw's Division, in the area of the Federal attack by Sheridan. It is quite unusual to see relics from a specific site at Cedar Creek
    . This relic was recovered in the 1990s, and I acquired it directly from the digger in 2018.
    The Battle of Cedar Creek, a very important 1864 engagement that was fought close to Winchester, VA,  is known to history for the famous ride made by General Sheridan in an effort to rally his army after a surprise Confederate attack.
    A provenance letter will be included.
