Description
Up for sale is a magnificent 1872 Patent Model Horse Halter By S.K. Dexter, being offered in used as is condition. The patent model in fair-good condition overall but has imperfections throughout. The front left hoof of the horse has a chip out of it so part of its hoof is missing. The lower portion of the horse's front right leg has a big chip in it and the lower portion of the front right hoof and right leg are missing. The most notable flaw is a large crack that starts near the upper half of the horse's body which continues around it's body and ends at the starting point of the crack. Another flaw I would like to make note of is both of the horse's ears are chipped. The left ear has more damage to it in comparison to the right ear. The chain holster and lock attached to the horse appear to be in excellent condition. The wood base that is used to hold the horse in place is not original and can easily be removed. Although the patent model does have numerous flaws, it is still a remarkable eye catching piece. At the starting point of the horse's nose to the tail, it is just over 10” in length x 9 3/4” height when measuring from its front left hoof to its ears. The patent tags are in very worn and faded condition due to its age. Please review the pictures carefully by zooming in to get an accurate representation of the condition of the item. In addition to the pictures, I also included a video which can be found below by pressing on the link. The video provides a close in depth look of the patent model and shows different views than the pictures. For additional information about this patent model please go to “google patents” and put “US128215” in the search bar.
