Description
Up for auction is an antique pedestal glass candy dish. It's in very nice shape! There is a chigger bite on the inside lid (and so small that I did not notice until listing it and going over with magnification), but did want to mention it.The beautiful wide gold gilt design around the edge is good. The gold that was on the finial top is worn (seen in photo), but does not detract from display.
I believe there was once a thin gold border around the very bottom (just a hint of that remains, as it was a very fine line). Again, this does not detract (not even noticeable).
The information that came with this candy dish stated that it was from the estate of Charlotte Heverly, of Blanchard, PA, and that it was from 1920s.
Measures approximately 8-3/4" from bottom to the finial top. Several photos show all aspects of the item.
This was sold as Fenton (antique auction), because it had no mark, but I have learned that many Heisey items were NOT marked, and I think it is actually Heisey. Whatever the case, it is a beautiful old item! Please ask any questions before bidding. Smoke-free home.
