The iQOO 13 has officially been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 54,999. Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the company claims it is the fastest phone in the country to date. However, is that the case? The iQOO 13’s release follows the introduction of the Realme GT 7 Pro, which was the first smartphone to feature the same processor. Aside from the chipset, both phones offer different specifications and target different price segments. Nonetheless, these devices are currently among the most powerful available in India. This raises the question: which one should you choose? Let’s find out.
Before we delve deeper into the specs and features of both phones, let’s analyse the price difference first.
The iQOO 13’s launch price stands at Rs 54,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, while the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant costs Rs 59,999. Additionally, the company is offering an instant discount of Rs 3,000 on SBI and HDFC bank cards, bringing the effective prices down to Rs 51,999 and Rs 56,999, respectively.
On the other hand, the Realme GT 7 Pro is available for Rs 59,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version, and Rs 65,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. As part of the launch offer, the standard variant is available for Rs 56,999 while the higher 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant for Rs 62,999.
The iQOO 13 offers the same chipset as the Realme GT 7 Pro, but at a lower price, making it the most affordable flagship phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC so far. But before we stand firm on our decision, let’s compare the specifications of both phones.
Design: The iQOO 13 looks similar to the iQOO 12 with cosmetic changes. The rear camera module is now complemented by a customisable “Energy Halo” LED that supports six dynamic effects and 12 colour combinations. The device comes in new colours as well and has a glass back. The overall look of the device is premium.
The Realme GT 7 Pro sports sleek glass back and slim profile. It has been launched in two colours —Mars Orange and Galaxy Grey. It features a square-shaped camera module on the back, housing three sensors and an LED light. The frame extends from the right side, and there is the Hyperimage branding, which adds a subtle yet stylish touch.
Display: The iQOO 13 features a 6.82-inch AMOLED display that peaks at 4,500nits brightness. It also sets a new benchmark as it sports the world’s first Q10 2K 144Hz Ultra Eyecare display.
The Realme GT 7 Pro features a 6.78-inch OLED Plus display which offers a resolution of 2780×1264 and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also offers a range of customisable modes like adaptive tone, eye comfort, and screen colour modes, letting you personalise your viewing experience based on your needs.
Processor: Both flagship devices are equipped with Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, built on a 3nm process. Additionally, they both operate on the latest Android 15 software.
Camera: The iQOO 13 houses a triple-camera system with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 primary sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The front camera is a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. It also features multi-focal portraits, NICE 2.0 algorithm for better night images and an improved street photography camera. It also sports AI features like AI Erase.
The Realme GT 7 Pro also comes with a triple camera-system, including a 50-megapixel primary camera (Sony IMX906), a 50-megapixel telephoto camera (Sony IMX882), and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera (Sony IMX355). On the front, there is a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter for taking selfies and attending video calls.
Battery: The iQOO 13 packs a 6,000mAh battery which is claimed to go from 1-100 in just around 30 minutes with the bundled 120W fast charger.
The GT 7 Pro comes with a 5,800mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging, which is said to take the phone from 0-100 in just around 30 minutes.
On paper, the iQOO 13 paints a slightly better picture as compared to the Realme GT 7 Pro. iQOO has outdone itself in almost every category. It has a bigger display than the Realme GT 7 Pro, a better camera lens, and a larger battery. But the key highlight here is that even when the ball is on the court, iQOO 13 costs less than the Realme GT 7 Pro.
